16 Campus Visits by Board of Regents
Policy Statement (Board Approval 12/12/23)
The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines and expectations for campus visits by members of the Murray State College Board of Regents. Campus visits provide an opportunity for board members to engage with the institution’s community, gain insights into its operations, and foster positive relationships. This policy applies to all members of the Board of Regents and outlines the procedures and expectations for planning, conducting, and reporting on campus visits.
Procedure
- Coordination
- Campus visits by member of the Board of Regents shall be coordinated through the Office of the President.
- The President or their designee shall work with the Board Chair to schedule campus visits, ensuring they align with the institution’s goals and priorities.
- Purpose and Objectives
- Each campus visit shall have clear objectives, which may include but are not limited to:
- Gaining a deeper understanding of the institution’s academic programs and initiatives.
- Meeting with faculty, staff, and students to discuss their experiences, concerns, and achievements.
- Reviewing campus facilities, infrastructure, and improvements.
- Discussing financial matters, budget, and institutional priorities with the President.
- Attend campus events, functions, ceremonies, or other public gatherings.
- Board members shall communicate their specific interests and goals for the visit to ensure that the itinerary aligns with their expectations.
- Each campus visit shall have clear objectives, which may include but are not limited to:
