36 Enrollment in Transitional Studies

Upon enrollment, a student may be placed in transitional courses based on an initial evaluation of academic preparedness. In addition, if a lack of skills appears to impair a student’s progress, a faculty member may suggest that the student enrolls in transitional studies courses.  The student may be referred to Academic Advisement for further assessment or advisement.

During the drop/add period of enrollment, a student, upon the advice of a faculty member or counselor, may enroll in transitional studies in addition to regular courses or may withdraw from regular courses and enroll in transitional studies courses exclusively.

After the drop/add period, a student may switch from regular courses to transitional studies courses with the consent of the faculty members involved, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and the Office of Admissions and Registrar.  Such a change will be on a credit-for-credit basis.
