“Why I Wrote ‘The Yellow Wallpaper’” by Charlotte Perkins Gilman

As the title indicates, this short essay provides insight from the author herself into her motivations for penning this short story. She wrote this essay for the October 1913 edition of The Forerunner, a monthly magazine.
