About EDUC 4353 Secondary Teaching Methods & Practices

The purpose of the EDUC 4353 Secondary Teaching Methods & Practices course is to prepare future teachers with skills to establish positive learning environments that facilitate the teaching and learning process. During the course, teacher candidates explore and apply research-based methods and practices related to the classroom environment and instructional planning. Teacher candidates will learn to apply strategies to encourage positive student behavior, plan instruction,  promote student engagement, and assess student learning. The course is currently taught using an 8-week hybrid delivery method with in-person class sessions and online work to be completed asynchronously.
